Try lead wire in a deceiver like Jay suggests but make a keel with the wire on
the bottom of the hook shank to keep the fly riding upright. I use these flies
with intermediate line and I can get them down plenty deep enough. Another option
may be a surf candy with a beadhead tied in just behind the the hook eye, although
this fly may snap a rod tip as well. It will give you a nice jigging action like
the clouser, though.
