Hi Dave and Art. A good website for weather is www.nws.fsu.edu/buoy/ne.html
I had a flyrod charter scheduled this AM from Hingham MA. I brought up the
Boston Buoy (44013). The wind at 4AM was nnw 23 kts, gusts to 27 kts,
wave height 8.2 feet. This site also has a link to local marine weather.
The local forecast for Boston Harbor was dismal. I knew before I left in the
dark the charter was doomed. Sure enough when I got to Hingham at 5;45 AM
it was windy and rainy. The charter arrived and they agreed to cancel.
Friday I brought up the "B" buoy report and it indicated lousy offshore
conditions. But looking out to sea it didn't "look" to bad. So off I
went. About 8 miles offshore the trip was cancelled.
