Drove out on the NWR at 6am this morning.(9/12)
At first light I was casting my needlefish into the very gentle surf. First retrieve had two fish chasing the lure and one of them lunged out of the water to take it. Pulled in a nice 24" Striper that was quite fat. From 6:05 to 6:30 I had consistent action on topwater, catching some 15 fish. Sunrise was 6:21(A good one at that) and after 6:30, the bite slowed considerably. I managed three more fish until I drove off the beach at 8:40.
I'll be back..
