Bad Luck Boating

So much for ranting and raving over the Lema boats. I think Hurricane Bonnie has brought
me bad luck. Her we go;
I haul my boat (19' Lema w/ 115 Johnson) out for hurricane Bonnie. While she is
out of the water I have the marina do some work on the boat (20 hour check on the
new motor and a couple of deck lights). 2 days after I put her in I get a call from
a mooring neighbor that she is sitting pretty low in the water. Sure enough, 5"
of water on the rear deck. I bail it out, bring over to the marina and haul it out.
It drained for a good ten minutes. Come to find out the drain plug housing was
never siliconed. But to fill up in 2 days because of a slow leak I wonder.
We put her back in, and 2 days later, it does the same thing. This time I have them (the marina)
come and get her. They drain it and replace the scuppers. They also think it is
the opening where all the cables go through the floor. There is only a 2" lip between
the deck and the opening. Ok, they fix it. It seems to work.
Yesterday, I sneek out to fish. Go to start the motor and all I get is this ticking
noise. Then she starts. Of course I ask myself if I should go out. Well I wasn't
going to say no. She runs great all the way out to the south side of Tuckernuck.
I start drifting too close to the sand bar. Go to start my motor, and nothing.
I can't even lift the motor. My lower unit hits the bar and I had to let the waves
push me over the snad bar. Not fun getting hit broad side. I got thrown around pretty
good. Managed to get off and anchor in deeper water. Removed the cover to find
the ticking sound. It was coming from a relay.
Just about to flag someone down or bother the C.G. when I decided to try it one more time.
She started. Yanked the anchor and off I went.
So much for worry free problems when you buy a brand new boat.
Does anyone have any ideas on the motor problem?

Kyle
