Steve,
It is a Johnson SPF 115. The noise was coming from a plastic box housing about 8 wires
on the rear of the motor. I opened the cover to this box and half of the wires
plug into what looks like a relay and the other half into another relay.Of course
when I was opening it I was leaning over the motor praying my Leatherman would
not fall in the drink.
I did try turning the fly wheel a couple of times (without juice on) to see if
there was a flat spot or something.I am familar with gas engines but when it
comes to electrical, forget it.
Thank God for warranties(sp). Brought it right back to the marina.
Is this stuff suppose to happen on new motors?
Thanks for the input

Kyle
