A couple of thoughts besides purchasing a mortar cannon :-)

1- Get that rod butt against your forearm at the end of your forward cast.
This is good form and will reduce tangling on the end of the rod...

2- Weight forward "heads" are typicaly 30'. So you need say 35' out of the rod tip
before you can really shoot a lot of line. Be patient, you are on the brink
of getting that distance...

3- Intermediate and sinking lines are smaller in diameter. So, not as easily
pushed by wind, less friction in the guides so shoots farther, requires less
room on reel so you can put more backing on...

4- Get the double haul down.
