Braided Loops v.s. Nail Knot Butt Section

I have been a fresh water fisherman for years and have used the braided line to leader connections without a problem. I am just getting started fly fishing in salt water and with the potential for large fish, I am second guessing the strength of the braided loops. Are there any suggestions one way or the other? What is the general preference? And if a nail knot is it, how many? I read in "Fly Fishing in Salt Water" magazine that two or three are best. Thanks in advance for the advice. I hope I am not churning up an old topic.
