My 2 cents - 3 years casting experience - adaquate caster.
First - Rocky - lose the floating line - completely useless for the type of fishing your going to be doing (from boat or from shore in current situations).
get a full intermediate; don't get an expensive one as you have a learning curve in front of you :-) anyways. Stay away from the shooting head; I found them more confusing and frustrating the first year than helpful. When I hit a cast right they were great; but back then I was only hitting 1 out of 10 and the other 9 times I'd get all balled up. Havinng the head -> line connection rattle thru and ctach on the guides really confused me as how to work w/ the line till I got the zen of flycasting after a few tens of thiousands of casts.
Don't get a sinking line as that can cause you to take rod loading unloading for granted due to the lines weight.
