So far so good with regards to the wildlife at the canal. i have not seen a single fouled bird this year, a huge change from last year. On a somewhat more dissapointing note, the number of pots in the canal has now increased by 3 or 4. I spoke to the guy pulling the pots yesterday and for the second time in two weeks he came up empty, why bother than? So many people loose their line on those damned things. I hear many regulars at the canal tell me that they pull them out whenever they can. I have never seen these guys pull more than a few lobsters out for the 6-12 pots they pull. Yesterday, the guy had 38 hooks and line wrapped into the one pot out in front of me from the last two weeks. What a waste.
