I've fished the canal for almost 25 years and have never been more disgusted. This year and abomination of traps in many of the spots has made fishing near impossible. I use 50-60 pound test and let me tell you that I pull my line back whether a trap is in the way or not. For 20 years I fished without trouble, these last 5 years have been terrible. Mr. Bob, my line is strong enough to endure dragging your traps in if they are not placed properly. I have the same right to fish in these spots as you do to lobster. If our lines cross, I will pull in whatever I am connected to. I say tough for you-place the lines on the bottom next time. For your information, I have been a lifelong resident of Bourne but I do not see how that plays into the equation. It is your elitist attitude that because you live near or around something you own it. This is the thought process that has closed all the beaches by the yuppies.
