i use the PVC and milk crate arraingment and it works good. Only problem being a high center of gravity. On windy days on the canal the whole rig has been dumped more then once while parked when a gust of wind caught it. Never leave it parked with a rod in the holder as it may ruin a nice rod when it goes over, plus is very easy for someone to lift the rod while you are busy fishing.So far I have been lucky in both regards but a friend wasn't when a rod disapeared from the holder.
