I have Honda power on both of my guide boats. The 50hp sits on the back of a 16'
Maritime and the 90hp propels an 18' Maritime. Even though both motors were
well proven when I forked over the cash ('96) I was still a little nervous.
3400 combined hours later I have not had to make a repair-just easy routine
maintnence. I do agree the four strokes have a little less gitty but I have no
problem with 3 passengers and a 40 gallon live pogie well. The fuel savings were
important to me because of the raw hours we put on them. That factor might not
mean so much to you depending on your usage. Good Luck!
