Bottom Painting - 2/14

I am new to boating and have a new boat that I will primarily be trailoring. There may be times where I will be on vacation and will want to keep it at a marina for about a week, say at Chatham. Any thoughts on wether or not I should put bottom paint on? How long can one keep a boat in New England waters without bottom paint?
