Any decent rod builder should be able to add a fighting grip, IF you really want to remove all the hardware to get the grip in place and then replace the guides, etc. (I imagine a removeable one made of foam could be designed quite easily, however). The big question is why would you want to add a fighting grip to a rod that doesn't (and probably wasn't designed to have one)in place already? I've heard that too many rods are broken by people placing their hands on the blank above the handle and stressing it at that point. If you want a fighting grip, I'd buy a rod that's been designed with one. Just my two cents.
