Ray,

You don't say if you've built one before, so I'll assume it's your first.

I decided to build a 10wt. this winter (my first). and I think if it's your first
rodbuilding project you'd be rushing it to get it done by next month. It's taken me
a couple of months to get caught up on technique, materials and to practice on some
scrap. I'm kindof anal about these things, so you mileage may vary. You could pick
up a Kit from Anglers workshop, they have a lot of travel rods. Of course then your
not choosing your own seat, guides etc. I am really enjoying obsessing about guides
and seats and blanks and the rest...

Also, FWIW, Lamiglas has been blowing out their high end travel rods IM700
for short money @ www.lamiglas.com

Also Greg Koch is building a 10wt. this winter with single foot ceramics, he could
bring you up to speed on that.

Good luck

Dave
