Admittedly weak in the knot department, I have been testing and practicing knots
this winter. On page 53 of Mark Sosin and Lefty Kreh's "Practical Fishing Knots"
there is the Non-Slip Loop. I have practiced this knot with great results. Using
8#, 12#, 16#, and 20# Mirage Flourocarbon I have found that this knot is stronger than
the unknotted line. Every test I have performed, the line breaks before the knot. I know
the leader material is OK, I've used Mirage for a couple seasons now with no problems.
After being outfished by a certain friend who uses loop knots on his flies, I have decided
that this knot will be my new standby for this season. Does anybody have any thoughts
about this knot? Any problems that I have not heard about?
