2/18 How Don Rickles made me a convert...

Oh, it is a proud day indeed...I hold in my hands my first ever and spanking new Orvis Silver Label Tl 8'6" Tip-Flex magic wand, complete with a sporty Battenkill disc drag, strung up and ready to go...Just had to do something with that stray expense check from those Fidelity spots that my Boston agency so kindly forwarded me. Now, it's only a 5wt. (not to steal your thunder Rick.D ) But I had to come to grips with the fact that I'm in the South, like it or not, and I can frequent North Ga. streams more often than the salt. If I get as hooked as I predict ( can't stop brandishing it around the house and office) I'll make the move and get a salt outfit. Couple that with the tying vise I got for Christmas, and I'm ready to sink countless hours and dollars into the new and unknown world of the fly. Who knows, maybe I'll be laying out 60' of line by the spring break conclave. Probably not, but it'll be fun to try. So, what does all this mean to you? Well, now you can expect a whole new se
t of stupid questions from me...I'll try and use the archives as much as possible to keep the T.R.F.(thread redundancy factor) down...that search funtion you mentiond Dave sounds good right now. Anyway, I was sitting here on a rainy Thursday in Atl, and I thought I'd share the news.

Greg, you could christen the whole thing if you sent me a Jersey IROC Big-Hair Fly :-) It's be the first in my box. Who knows, redneck trout might dig it.

Look forward to fishing with you guys again. Take care
Derrick
