Derrick, you were better off smoking crack! far cheaper:-)
With respect to trout, don't worry about distance, slack line presentations and mending are
far more important then distance. 40 feet is a whopping distance for most streams.
Think about a double taper instead of a WF, rollcasts better. Find out some local patterns
(dry's, nymphs) that work down there and I'll twist you up a few. (e-mail me your address)I'll have a
popovicks IROC big-hair fly for you
at the fall conclave (won't make the spring one)....can't be cast on a 5 wt though.....

Grasshopper my son, never practice cast without a leader, and then always with
a bit of yarn on the end of your tippet.
(snatch this pebble from my hand!?)
(Yoda voice)
Luke, a jedi knight must loose the loop, nail knot a butt section to your line, replace seasonally, and blood knot your leader
to the butt section. Your fly lines fine, just cut off the frayed section. (feel the force my son....)
Good luck!
