I just finished a week of fishing in the Watch Hill, Weekapaug, R.I.
area. (fantastic) These are some of my observations. Watch Hill Light,
( So many BEER CANS in the rocks you could start a recycling plant.
SOLUTION: Close the lighthouse to fishing. Watch Hill beach to Andrea Hotel,
(BEER CANS, FISH CARCASSES ALL OVER THE SAND, TRASH, PAPERS) Saw fisherman
leave their bait, papers and junk on the beach and was told to mind my own
business. Saw fisherman leave live bluefish above the water line and
drive away. SOLUTION: Close the beach to 4x4's and fisherman. New parking
lot at Weekapaug,(BEER CANS, BROKEN BOTTLES, PAPERS, LINE, SHIT)
SOLUTION: Give the parking lot back to the Dunes Club. State Beach, I wrote
letters to the state and town news papers to leave the parking lot open
so the people could use this beach during the fall and winter.( stood on the
beach in the morning and watched surf fisherman drive by and through out
BEER CANS AND COFFEE containers.) SOLUTION: Close the State Beach parking lot.
I have a house 2 miles from the beach and fish approx. 3 days per week,
and I would like to know "who the HELL" do these so called surf fisherman
think they are? The good guys stand around and complain about all the trash,
but never go about and pick any of it up. Why not carry a extra bag and
when you see some junk, pick it up, find a dumpster.
P.S. If you have not been fishing the south shore of R.I. get down
there, the fishing is out of this world.(No Promises)
