I agree. While the problem may be somewhat better in Falmouth than where you are, my blood just boils at the sight of some of these slobs and of all the short fish kept. I have to believe a fishing licence, perhaps an expensive fishing licence, would go a looong way in solving these problems.
We go through these licence discussions periodically, and they are always volatile, but the more time I spend on the water, the stronger my belief that a licenced, policed fishery is a very desirable option. We are witnessing a fishing community which is simply unable to police itself adequately, if at all.
Would 'THEY' do a perfect job - no, of course not, but I bet the situation improves. I, for one, would be glad to shell out a lot more money for a licence than it'll likely end up costing.
