i think this will be a lonnng thread. this is exactly the kind of thing i've been complaining about on the canal for years. when you hear me refer to the "new generation" of fishermen, these are precisly the jamokes i'm refering to! not for years, but for decades, we enjoyed total access to the canal, day or night. the bass fishery rebounds, and along comes this new generation, they have NO repect for homeowners on the shore, they love to litter, swear, drink, leave dead soldiers(empties), use drugs, take short fish, take lobsters, deficate and urinate in the open (but preferably in the homeowners shrubs), and make as much noise as possible as if to announce their presence to the world. hasn't anyone else noticed how much of the canal parking has been closed(using boulders), or had resticted parking issued. look guys, we all don't have to get along. there are simply far too many of us. by us, i mean, guys who play by the rules, respect what is not ours, and comport ourselves in such a manner as to not have the word "fishermen" be associated with a vile and crude minority which behave as if they just got released into public. i've stated so many times, we all have so much to lose by the bad behavior of a few. remember, to non-fishermen, we are all guilty by association. when a homeowner awakens to find his or her property a mess, bait on the lawn, beer bottles on the beach, human waste in the marsh grass, they will always say: it was the fishermen who did this! from that point on, anyone armed with a fishing rod is the enemy. we must vigilantly patrol and police our ranks. don't look the other way when someone fouls an area. if you have a member of your group who habitually behaves poorly, then he should not be a member of your group any longer. when someone finds himself ostracized by his peers, he'll either change, or go smewhere else. take it from me, the corps of engineers, and the bourne police are not going to tolerate this behavior forever. more ares will be closed, and we'll continue to find orselves squeezed.
