I agree with most of the posts on this subject. One factor we want to keep in mind is that a lot of the trash in the typical fishing locales doen't come from fishermen. Many times I've seen tourists marveling at the beauty of a beach or the Canal. Of course when they leave the Micky D or Dunkin Donuts trash stays behind.
In these times when houses are built right next to the water I find it particularly irksome that some Jamokes( as bobg calls them) have to do their Jimmy Houston HeeHaw imitation after each fish they catch. That with the language and time of day makes for unpleasant angler homeowner relations.
Maybe we should have a couple of "Cleanup Conclaves" each year.
