you know scott, just because they're in cape cod bay, i wouldn't bet the farm on them going through the canal. if they come down the coast, and hit an east tide in the canal, they'll go left(that's east) most of the time and travel around the cape. they(the bass) don't know the canal is there, and it's one hell of a short cut. they follow the bait, which is largly controled by the tides, until they go south. or where ever it is that they go.
