Bill:

I had/have same issue with them. The deal is that your membership is not done on an annual basis like most (every?) other organization. If I remember correctly, the memberships expire only after you received 4 or 6 of the magazines. I've belonged for close to three years and have only received one and can't remember if it was current issue or a past issue.

In that regard it's a funny group...however, if you're still receiving the meeting notices, then you're still a member. I agree with those that stated to attend a meeting, specially if you're looking for tying advice. As posted in other threads, the little tricks you can learn of "experience" cannot be adequately expressed in a book or video. During a class on deceivers we spent over half the time on selecting and preparing the saddle hackles; how to pick, what makes a good cape from a bad one, why capes are better than strung saddle hackle, how to "hold" them and stack them, etc. The flies tied by this class were the best each one of us ever tied.

See you @ the next meeting!

Dale
