Today at dawn till about 8 am there were some bass and blues at East Beach. The wind was from the Northwest there wasn't much surf. I used the flyrod and took 4 bass on a popper where I only had to cast 10 or 15 feet. There was a small pod if bass right in front of me. Two of the fish were keepers about 30 inches, which I released. I saw one bass about 40 swirl at the popper and missed. That was it they left. The wind shifted Southwest and got windy. Charter boats were working down toward Fresh Pond Rock, and Quonnie. At Watch Hill Beach there was a school of fish offshore. Went back to East Beach everything was quiet. Went home at noon.
