It was good, it was memorable

Folks:

I didn't realize quite how much Reel-Time and all of you have become part of my life before meeting about 40 faces to go with the electronic communications we have all had over the past few years. It made me realize that of the positive moments of my past year; Reel Time and its people have been present in a fair percentage thereof.

This is a really gratuoitous name-drop but its true - in 94 I was working on a project called internetMCI under direction of Vint Cerf. One of the things he forsaw was that the internet would allow micro-communities, focus and special interest groups to flourish as it would allow directed communication between like people.

We have that with Reel-Time - the BBS is definitely a vehicle for us to share information, opinion, and facts. However; what was apparent to me earlier this evening; was that even without ever having met many of you previously, how comfortable I was switching to a face to face means of communicating without even a pause.

Dave and Thorne - you've built the framework for a fishing community - all who participate, contribute, give and take; we are the ones who have added the finish work which turns a frame into a livable residence and turns absolute strangers into a comfortable community.

I know a bunch about failed internet dreams; I for one am really appreciative to be part of one of the few non-commercial, non-make three people rich at the expense of 200 others, success stories that I am aware of. Thanks to all; it was nice meeting those of you who attended today; I hope to meet more of you later. Thanks for contributing of yourself and putting enough of your personality into the vehicle we call Reel-Times that we all can benefit from the shared give and take.

L.
