Made my first trip of the year to RI expecting to get into some good fishing. Boy was I wrong. Started the day at the Weakapaug Breachway from 6-8 and did'nt even get a hit. Much like the rest of the guys out there. Did see a brief flury of action in the rocks off the point but that was it. Went and got my beach permit and checked Wathhill, Misquamicut, East, and Charleston Beaches to no avail. Shot up to Point Judith, Naragansett, and Beavertail but still nothing. I did'nt even see any birds working offshore. Worked my way back down to the same places and still saw nothing except for a few splashes at Charleston Beach where the amount of fishermen out numbered the amount of fish by far. Ended the day at WatchHill Beach with a 1 minute showing of some False Albacore and that was it. I know this sounds pretty depressing so I hope someone did better than I did this weekend.
