Will have some thoughts on the conclave tomorrow....today out to practice my casting this AM. Went to the top secret, windless practice cove at just the right tide. Picked off a cool dozen clone pocket bass. Much fun, but then SHE hit. Why didn't someone tell me about what happens when you actually get your first fish on the reel? Geez!! Hooked this fish, wasn't big, 23" maybe. But the first fish I ever got on the reel of the fly rod. OOOuch. Damn thing bruised three knuckles and one finger tip. Holy S--- that hurts!! Never stick my paws in a spinning fly reel again that's for sure. Back out this PM with Scruffy, she out fished me as usual. had to revert to my old ways to pick up a 25" bass at an old spot which I have'nt visited for two years. Can you say Slate Island? Nope not that place Adam..I do keep a few places to myself!!! Total? Ahh who's counting anymore, I fly fish and I'm above that now!!<G>
