I have been using 20# fireline. You can cast futher it sinks faster and there is less water resistance because of it's diameter. It's also much easier to feel a strike or the bottom and there is little stretch when you set the hook. On the other hand it dosen't last to long. One of my friends is using cabela's ripcord and loves it says it wears much better, casts further and is stronger for less diameter.
