Thanks for your insights and many helpful suggestions!! My story, as true
and sad as it is, was shared mainly for entertainment. I've been fishing
long enough to appreciate the chase is often much much longer than the
catch :-)
I do - now - have costal charts and at least think I understand the retrieve
depth issue. Yes, I think I also am beginning to understand the structure/tide
variables as well.
Given my worm hatch experience, I think I have one counter your
"If you get half-decent flies in front of striped bass, with a half-decent
retreive, they will bite". Just kidding :-) Have read the fish can
be selective during this event...
I have Mitchell's book. The Reel-Time bookstore is on my list for
other titles for Christmas.
Unfortunately, this gob of salt equipment and materials dried up my
paper bag full of $20's to pay my initiation fee and get shown where to
fish :-( Can I still watch the board and look for hints while I save
my money???
