Took the flyrod to the Harwich area to try my luck last weekend. On Saturday I fished the falling tide at the Wychmere yacht club channel and jetty. Saw a couple of snappers pushing the baitfish, of which there was plenty. Seemed to be the thing of the weekend: plenty of care-free baitfish but no bass to be seen. On Sunday, my girlfriend was tossing chunk herring while I casted clousers into the incoming current at Bass River. No luck. Later tried West Dennis Beach at the restaurant end. Guy at the end of the short jetty caught a schoolie on a surface plug...I caught nothing. Has anyone else had luck in that area?
