I had some trouble with 14 and 20 # Fireline knots. Not to make life too
complicated, but I put a bimini twist in the Fireline and use the doubled line
to tie an albright to to a 20 or 30 # leader. I use a palomar to a snap. Whole
rig goes thru guides okay, so I use a 4 or 5 foot leader so I can retie the snap
if I get any fraying on the leader.
Seems like a lot, but it will stand up to a day of hard fishing with no
problem. Gotta have something to do those nights before, anyway. Can be a
problem if I get bit off in a school. Is a little frustrating tieing so
many knots when your freinds are pulling in fish. Extra spool?
