As a member of the late-nite Conga line, I have to say that I don't have any
problem in principle with the use of spots at night- I can guarantee that I'd
rather suffer a temporary loss of night vision than be nearly run down by four
guys in a CC who were too occupied chatting to realize where they were heading.
However, I think that it's also reasonable to use a light for finding your way,
and not for the seemingly new spectator sport of watching five guys with fly
rods not catch any fish. We had lights on us for WAY more time than was needed
to pick out the channel- unless the guy at the helm was really planning to make
a quick trip backwards into the shore after going by.....
