Don't know what time you went to work, but I was between the Sagamore and the pilings (mainland side) from 5:15 - 7:15. Lots of fish breaking, but mostly 12-16 inch stripers. I was throwing a surface popper that was probably a bit large for their taste. Managed a couple of fish in the low 20s (inches, not pounds), lots of bumps and another 4 hookups on the schoolies, and a couple of monster bluefish (8-10 lbs). One of the bluefish cracked my Atom popper in two places (blues with an attitude). To be honest though, I really did not see any really big stripers breaking - you know, the kind that make your heart race and your arms casts wacky! Some schoolie fish breaking really close to shore - definitely accessible to a flyrodder if you can find a shallow bank for your backcast. Lots of bait there - should be any day know.
