This is Mike M. replying not the other Mike, but to answer your question yes there
have been fish taken at Short Beach, I have been fishing the river for a long time
and anytime you need some info just drop me a line at my E-Mail address and we can
chat. There are fish all over the river as far up as the Derby Dam, I caught fish
both Sat. and Sun. last weekend see my earlier posts, the fish wanted a very fast
strip and stop presentation and they are still orienting to the bottom. They seem
to be feeding on minute shrimp like creatures. If you are going to make a run
up this way give me a ring and we can hookup for trip out on my boat to fish the
