Ray's Fly imitates a sand eel or small baitfish (see March archives). By fishing a pair on a dropper rig you imitate schooling bait and will often pick up two bass at a time as they tear through pods of bait. Two ways to tie a droppers are to 1) leave t
he tag end untrimmed on your last section of leader and secure the second fly here or 2) tie a section of mono directly to the rear of the hook on the first fly and run it to the second fly. Lengths vary according to taste from 6" to a foot or more.
