According to several folks in and around the canal, fish are already being caught. Water temps may normally be too cold most years, but they are a good 1-4 degrees Celsius warmer than normal already.
A fishing friend of mine was biking the canal this evening and saw two guys catching fish down by the railroad bridge in numbers.
