The river will usually run about 5 degrees warmer, although snowpack and runoff

cause this to fluctuate in the spring. My records show shad entering the river

at about 45 degrees on the bouy and stripers entering shortly after at around 47

to 50.

I will predict that you will be seeing shad entering the river in large numbers

in about a week and stripers by May 1 this year.
