Fished the rising tide at the mouth of the Mousam today as much to stem the rising fever as to actually catch anything. I used both intermediate and sink tip with a variety of drifts and retrieves and chartreuse clouser and sandeel imitations. Nada. I
also fished Scarborough Marsh on 4/15 on a rising tide with lots of bait present without luck.
Word has it that some fish have been picked up in Portland area on the Presumpscot but small (12-14") and probably holdovers. If anyone spots activity, give it a yell.
Also, I am a recent transplant to Maine from Oregon and, because I couldn't bear to part with it, brought my drift boat with me (18' ray's river dory). If anyone has suggestions for good use of it in either in Maine or South Cape area (Falmouth/Waquoit B
ay and vicinity)--vis a vis drifts in estuaries or rivers along the coast, I'd be quite interested to hear. I will avoid getting a motor for the time being, but if I get serious who knows. Thanks for suggestions.
