Re: 4/19 Cotuit - surface schoolies from the sea

This morning at 7:30 AM, all of North Bay was alive with rising fish. The bay looked almost like it does when there's a worm hatch, with fish working the surface from one side to the other.

Sadly, I had kid duty, so I didn't get to go catch them. About 8:00 or so they turned off. My day was saved, however, because they had started up again by 3:00 in the afternoon, and I got a chance to fish for an hour. They weren't as active as they had
been in the morning, but I managed a half-dozen fish. The largest was about 18 inches, and they all had sea lice on them. I got half of them on spinning gear with a chartreuse & mylar jig, and the other half on a gray & white Clouser. They were obviou
sly not picky, as even my laughable impersonation of a fly fisherman was enough to entice them to eat.
