I fish with a boat out of wesport harbor. There is an excellent flat at the inside of the mouth of the harbor-however, it is seperated from horseneck side by a deep channel and the flat itself has fast moving water. having said that, the flat holds lots of
fish at times. bait there during season is plentiful. at times it gets a mall break. it weould be difficult to fish without at leasst at conoe or kayak to get to flat. also tide rips thru-best bet is to fish at half outgoing tide so you can stand on expo
sing sand bar. wading deeper than thigh deep is dangerous in shifting sands etc. As for Sakkonet point etc-no flats there. you might try up east branch of westport above rt 88 bridge for flats-again you'll need a small boat to access as channels limit wad
ing access. rots o ruck GI!
