John, I got it at Billington Sea Watercraft in Plymouth. The place is only open weekends and it can't be found except by calling for detailed directions and then hiring Sherpa guides to bring you in. Still, I paid $50 less than EMS wanted for the same r
ig.
I like it a lot so far. My comparison is with the Keowee that I've borrowed all winter. The Keowee has a hull shaped like a bar of soap, so it doesn't "track" at all. The Pungo has "hard chines", which is to say that the hull has some groovy grooves an
d also pointy ends. It's still pretty beamy and stable.
I found it really easy to fish from when the spray skirt is on. You keep your stripped line on the skirt, and to land fish you just slide them up on your lap for some calm unhooking.
You mileage may vary, of course, and I'm no kayak expert by any means, but for a flyfishing vehicle at around $500 I'm pretty happy with it.
