Fished both sides of low tide, I had my kayak off of Robbins Hill
on the big sand bar. Caught multiple small stripers on the fly
until low tide, as soon as the water started back in the larger fish moved
in, It was dead calm out there and you could see the fish busting in small
schools. I was using a chart clouser with a hand over hand retrieve,
you could see the fish following the fly, there's nothing like seeing
a dark torpedo behind your fly.. The bonus of the day was my first Bluefish
on the fly rod, about a 10 pounder-what a blast! Fall fishing is on it's way.
