Ken,
I found that I could wade/fish with the kayak by tying a close line to the tip, then
tying the other end to a loop on my life jacket. This way I could wade until water was
waist deep or so, then with some effort, jump back in (by no means gracefully)
and fish from the kayack. Worth practicing first however before your out there!
