I assume you are referring to the outside of the sand bar. If so, we have
seen large fish when Kayaking around above the bar waiting for the tide to drop.
These were spotted by accident, however, when we got out of the Kayaks
and purused them we had no luck. The wind, however, was strong that day and
casting was a chore. I would assume if you could spot them without spooking them
there are plenty of fish chasing bait on that edge. The trick on how to
get at them is left to explore. Perhaps drifting along the edge and
'trolling' a fly behind the Kyak may produce, however, these were rather
large fish and the thought of fighting one over the sand bar with from the Kayak
sfrom the Kayak seems slightly problematic to me. May be fun trying!
