Good use for a 'yak. I used to use mine in the Plum Is. River, and in the Parker
river (upper and lower) as well. Lots of spots in behind PI that you can't access
with an outdrive, but can with a kayak. Fall is the time, as in the summer the
bugs can be tough for a paddler. I didn't use my kayak on Joppa, but as I recall
the rip line at the edge of the flats is quite obvious. When I used to windsurf
there you were fine as long as you stayed inside that line. I'd imagine this
would hold for the kayak too. Another good use is floating outside the surfline,
but PI often has a big shore break so it's not always safe to get out. My big
problem with the kayak is that when I use it I usually wind up forgetting to
fish ! Have fun,
