Hi folks- I see we're back to the same old arguments. What would be perfect is a slot limit where 24-30 inch fish could be taken at the rate of one per day. These are better eating fish anyway. Then allow a trophy fish should they exceed 48 inches. We wou
ld have lots of large bass to release and world or state records could still be had. By the time bass have become 4 feet long their best spawning days are behind them. Should something like this be unworkable, I would be willing to forego ever bringing ho
me another striped bass if no one else could. That includes those who supplement their income selling this beautiful creature. Virtually no one has ever made a living selling bass. Even the best old timers were able to partly live off selling their catch.
The future of striped bass for the table lies in aquaculture. Farm raised fish taste better and they can be sold at a smaller size. Go to Legal Seafoods, their bass comes from a farm near Turner's Falls. **David**
