Very interesting reading this string, I got alot of background in how different
user groups think. A slot limit has some merit if our fisheries managers would
have the guts to try it. I believe NY has a slot limit for those who sell their catch 34" - 38" ? This method would protect the large bass that live to grow
beyond 38". Is catching or having the chance to catch a trophy bass what we all
want? Lord knows we can catch all the 20" bass we want. Two fish over 28" is no big deal. Someone who catches and kills 20 - 40" or larger bass at a pop is
definitly going to effect our trophy fishery. Push for a slot limit on commercial angling and everyone will see more trophy fish.
