Or eloquent scribe from Nantucket (David Goodman) has already said it: The stripers aren't going to breed in Scorton creek. Most likely they are there simply because the population is so large that the regular feeding and breeding grounds couldn't support them all. Therefore some of the smaller ones (non-breeders) are staying behind. Scorton couldn't support breeding for the reasons David mentioned. There are some northern rivers whicj do support breeding populations like the Kennebec & possibly the Connecticut.
