Hi Charlie,
Welcome to the world of SW FFing. You may never be the same again.
Question 1:
Look in the archived posts - there has been quite a bit of discussion
in the past about fishing in the Boston area.
Question 2:
Without a doubt the 2 most successful flies are Deceivers and Clousers.
Match the size and girth to the prevailing baitfish. My favorite fly is
a 2/0 Clouser - chartreuse/white with gold and holographic flashabou
flash tail.
Question 3:
Look for moving water and structure which tends to constrict the flow,
and thereby increase it. Vary your retrieve - from dead drift to fast
strips and everything in between. If your not catching fish - move. Pay
attention to what is going on around you - birds, bait, wind, rips, etc.
